Charles Chase
Franklin's father's name was Charles Chase. He may have been born in 1810 in New York. Frank list's his father's state of birth as New York and this is consistant through all census records. The Iowa State Census for 1925 list a completely different set of parents for his with the different last name. At this time I am thinking the census taker was asleep at the wheel on that one but maybe it was a set of step parents. At this point I am ready to believe anything. Any ideas?

She is not part of the listing as part of the census. She could be working out at another place. Will continue to investigage

Vern L. Chase
I went to the Clinton County Library yesterday in Clinton, Iowa. They have a genalogical library there called the Rootscellar and it is well worth the trip. I broke through a brick wall by finding Vern L. CHASE and his wife Mary HINZ. Prior to this break through I thought he and Mary lived in Kansas. I was able to locate both of their obituaries, (check out the posting of these on US Genweb, Clinton county, Iowa website). I
